Welcome to Cornell, First-Years!

Welcome

Welcome to Cornell, its weird weather patterns, its 7:45 a.m. clocktower chime concerts and nearly vertical hills. Nestled cozily in Ithaca is a bustling campus, where you will spend the next several years learning, making mistakes and everything else in between. Life on the Hill is exhilarating, exhausting and any other adjective you might randomly find in the thesaurus. We hope you’ll make the most of it, and we’re here to help you do that. The Cornell Daily Sun publishes stories that run the gamut from news articles to keep you informed about campus, to blogs that explore various aspects of the Cornell experience, to arts & entertainment reviews of the local Ithaca arts scene.

About The Cornell Daily Sun

Completely student-run, The Sun operates independently from Cornell University and has been this way since our beginnings in 1880. For 135 years, this paper has proudly served the University and the surrounding community with unparalleled daily coverage of news, arts, sports, arts, and opinion, plus science, dining and weekend material. The Sun is the oldest continuously-independent daily in the United States.

We are a 24/7 online publication at cornellsun.com. We also print three times a week, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Our issues are available for free across campus. You can keep up-to-date with The Sun by liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter, and subscribing to our daily email newsletter.
